# How to unsubscribe from emails in Gmail in bulk

Note: Gmail steps checked against Google's documentation on October 19, 2026.

Gmail now has a **Manage subscriptions** page (under **More** in the left sidebar) that lists your active subscriptions with an **Unsubscribe** button next to each, so you can work through many senders in one place. Google says it is still rolling out. Without it, open an email from the sender and click **Unsubscribe** next to their name.

## How do you unsubscribe from many emails at once in Gmail?

1. Open Gmail on your computer. In the left sidebar, click **More**, then **Manage subscriptions**.
2. Find a sender in the list. At the right, next to the number of recent emails from them, click **Unsubscribe**.
3. If a pop-up appears, choose **Go to website** to finish on the sender's site, or **Block instead**.
4. Repeat down the list. There is no single button for every sender at once.

- **One email at a time:** open an email from the sender, click **Unsubscribe** next to their name, then **Unsubscribe** or **Go to website** in the pop-up. Some senders only allow unsubscribing on their website.
- Google says unsubscribing from a sender in Manage subscriptions also unsubscribes you from their related mailing lists, and new emails from them go to Spam. **Report not spam** brings a sender back.

> These steps follow [Google's own documentation](https://support.google.com/mail/answer/15621070?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DDesktop), read on October 19, 2026 for Gmail on the web (desktop). They were checked against the documentation, not clicked through in a real account. Manage subscriptions is still rolling out and may not be in your account yet. The single-email steps come from support.google.com/mail/answer/15433283, read the same day. Menus change now and then; if a label differs, Google's page is the reference.

## How do you unsubscribe in bulk in Donezo Inbox?

Donezo Inbox's **Cleaner** groups newsletters and notifications by sender and puts the ones you read least at the top, so the obvious ones are first.

1. Open the Cleaner: the broom in the Tools dock, or press ⌘K and choose **Cleaner: unsubscribe and clear out**.
2. On the **Unsubscribe** tab, each row shows a sender from the last 90 days, how many emails they sent and how much of it you read.
3. Click **Unsubscribe** on a row. Donezo Inbox uses the sender's own unsubscribe link: one click where the sender supports it, otherwise the unsubscribe email address they give, otherwise their web page in a new tab. Their mail in your inbox is marked done at the same time.
4. For senders you want to keep but not see, click **Mark done**. To send their future mail to spam, **Block** (this needs the inbox assistant on). To leave a sender alone and drop them off the list, **Keep**.
5. On a single email, ⌘U unsubscribes from that sender.

- Unsubscribing and Mark done also add a rule so the sender's future mail is marked done. Like Block, which sends their new mail to spam, that rule is carried out by the inbox assistant, so it needs the assistant switched on. The Cleaner's **Blocked** tab undoes a block.
- When a sender gives no unsubscribe link, the toast says so, and their current mail is still cleared.

## Why do the emails keep coming after you unsubscribe?

- **Mail still arrives for a while.** Unsubscribing asks the sender to stop, and each sender handles that at its own pace. Mail they sent before the request can still arrive.
- **There was no Unsubscribe button.** Not every email carries an unsubscribe link. Google's page notes that some senders only allow it on their website. Block the sender if they keep writing.
- **Manage subscriptions is missing.** Google says the feature is still rolling out. Use the Unsubscribe link on a single email in the meantime.
- **It is spam, not a newsletter.** Report it as spam instead of unsubscribing. Unsubscribing only helps with senders that honor the request.

## Questions

### Is there a way to unsubscribe from everything at once?

Not in Gmail: Manage subscriptions has one Unsubscribe button per sender. Donezo Inbox's Cleaner is also one click per sender, but it sorts senders by how little you read them and marks their inbox mail done (archived, not deleted) in the same click.

### What is the difference between unsubscribing and blocking?

Unsubscribing asks the sender to stop. Blocking sends whatever they still send to spam, whether they honor the request or not.

### Why am I still getting so much spam after unsubscribing?

Unsubscribing only works with senders that honor it. Report real spam as spam in Gmail instead, and block senders who keep writing; in Donezo Inbox, Block sends their new mail to spam while the inbox assistant is on.

### Does unsubscribing delete the old emails?

Not in Gmail. In Donezo Inbox's Cleaner, unsubscribing also marks that sender's inbox mail done (archived, not deleted), so it stays searchable.
