Donezo Inbox for Mac
The same Donezo Inbox in a Mac window of its own, with your unread count in the Dock and the menu bar.
Version 0.1.0 · Apple silicon (M1 or later) · macOS 12 or later · 3.8 MB
Closed beta. Donezo Inbox is in early access. Sign-in goes through Google, and until Google finishes verifying the app, sign-up is limited. The Mac app signs in the same way, so the same limit applies to it.
Install it in three steps
- Download Donezo-Inbox-0.1.0-arm64.dmg (3.8 MB).
- Open the disk image and drag Donezo Inbox onto the Applications folder beside it.
- Open Donezo Inbox from Applications. The app is signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS may ask you to confirm that you want to open an app downloaded from the internet. Choose Open.
Sign-in opens your browser, because Google does not allow sign-in inside an app window. Choose your Google account there and the app picks the sign-in up.
What the Mac app adds
The app is the website in a window of its own, so everything on the site works in it. These are the parts a browser tab cannot do.
- Your unread count in the Dock and the menu bar. The Dock icon shows your unread total, and a menu bar icon shows it too.
- Notifications with the window closed. Close the window and Donezo Inbox stays in the menu bar and checks for new Priority mail about once a minute, so you are still notified. Quit it with ⌘Q and the checks stop. It does not start at login by itself; add it in System Settings, General, Login Items.
- A new message from anywhere. Press ⌃⌥⌘N in any app to start one. Select text or files in another app, then choose Services, New Email with Donezo Inbox. To open mailto: links in it, pick it under Mail, Settings, General, Default email reader.
- A Mac window of its own. It remembers its size and position, and links to other sites open in your default browser.
Everything else, from the split inbox to snooze, the assistant and the connector for Claude, ChatGPT and Codex, is the website itself, so it works here as it does in a browser.

How it updates
Version 0.1.0 does not update itself. A new version of the Mac app is a new download from this page.
The website part is different. The app loads donezoinbox.com, so a change we make to the website reaches the app the next time you open it, with nothing to install.
Not on Apple silicon?
- Intel Mac. This download runs only on Apple silicon, the M1 chip and later. There is no Intel build yet. On an Intel Mac, use Donezo Inbox in your browser, where it runs the same.
- Windows and Android. Apps for both are on the roadmap. There is nothing to download yet, and the website works in any current browser.
- iPhone. The iPhone app is launching soon.
Privacy
The app loads donezoinbox.com, so the Privacy Policy covers it, and What We Store lists what is kept, with a row for the Mac app.
With its window closed, the app asks our server about once a minute whether new Priority mail has arrived. The server reads your mailbox to answer and records nothing.
